We often talk about how aerial fitness empowers women—but recently, I stopped to really think: What does that actually mean? I wanted to get crystal clear on the answer, so I took a moment to reflect.
Yes, aerial fitness improves strength, flexibility, and overall health. But the empowerment runs deeper than that. Here’s what I’ve realized:
1. The COMMUNITY is unmatched. Our aerial tribe lifts each other up—literally and emotionally. We challenge one another, cheer each other on, and dream big together. It's unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere.
2. It’s a SAFE SPACE to fail forward. In aerial, you’re constantly trying, falling, learning, and trying again. It’s a judgment-free zone where making mistakes is part of the process—and that mindset carries into life.
3. It KEEPS ME HUMBLE.I’ll admit it—some of my students can do things I still can’t! And I love that. It reminds me that we’re all on our own journey and we all have something to teach and something to learn.
4. It LIFTS ME—literally and emotionally. There’s such joy in focusing on what we can do, rather than what we can’t (yet). Progress is empowering, and trying is FUN.
These things are baked into the experience of aerial fitness. And knowing how powerful that feeling is, I started to think: How can we extend that empowerment beyond the studio? How can we each empower the women in our lives—our sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends?
Sometimes, it starts with something simple:Tell her you see her. Tell her you appreciate her. Encourage her when she’s learning something new. Dream big with her. Remind her she’s strong. Remind her she’s beautiful—inside and out.
And here’s the most important part: Do the same for yourself. Trust that you are strong. You are beautiful. You are not broken. You are enough.
Empowerment spreads like wildfire when you're brave enough to light the match. Maybe that first spark is showing up for an aerial class. I hope you will check out our offerings here.😉
With love and lift, Mindy
