Highlighting Domestic Violence Awareness on "Giving Tuesday"

After Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday. On this day of activism and generosity, our goal is to promote domestic violence resources for those looking for a worthwhile organization to donate to. Therefore, Elevated Aerialists created these videos in 2022 to bring attention to Kalispell, MT's Abbie Shelter. The Abbie Shelter is Flathead Valley’s domestic and sexual violence service provider. Shelter is in the name, but they are much more than a shelter. Whether it's court, counseling, or support, they help women through any step of the process of getting safe. We chose our songs for these routines carefully with the intent to uphold Emily Mohler’s desire to choreograph a routine for domestic violence awareness, which she expressed to me before her death. Emily was our studio's photographer and a dear friend who was tragically murdered (along with her three-year-old daughter and another dear friend) by her abusive ex. You can read Emily’s story here.

In Emily's memory, we will be donating all proceeds from classes on Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025. Reserve a spot: http://www.elevatedfitnessmt.com/single-sessions. Further, for those who attend a class that day, share a photo after class and tag the studio with the tag #ElevateforEmpowerment -- for everyone who shares, I will donate an extra $5.

Also, we would be grateful if you shared this post to help spread the message that domestic violence can happen to anyone. We want to remind women of the importance of moving slowly in a relationship to help prevent domestic violence. If domestic violence is happening to you or someone you know, please reach out to trusted family or friends and utilize the domestic violence hotlines (National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233; The Abbie Shelter 1-406-752-7273). If you feel called to donate, please visit https://www.abbieshelter.org/donate to find about how your tax-deductible donation can help provide essential support and resources to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Thank you for your support.
